Happiness when being a parent

I feel happy when:

- my children manage to finish their food for every feed/meal

- they smile at you innocently or cheekily

- they hug you and say 'I Love You'

- they kiss you on your cheek

- they poo and pee

- they drink lots of water every day

This is how simple life should be.

Breastfeeding

Even before delivery, I knew that breastfeeding would be my challenge this time round a big challenge as I did not breastfeed my gal at all. This is totally a new thing for me. The effort in terms of physically and mentally is more than what I had thought of.

In addition, the attention that my gal needs is also a strain on me. Luckily with my family support especially my hb n mum and help and also my CL, I can still breastfeed my boy. However, what is in my mind is what would happen after my CL leaves. How can I cope with my gal whom needs me when she sleep and wake up, nite feeds for the nb and expressing milk, I doubt I can do so. I would not be able to manage and the stress is piling up and this affects the milk volume.

After days of thought, i decide to wean of breast milk after my confinement, I agree it is not a very good decision or rather a depressing one as a parent I wan the best for my children. However, if I persist on and it affects me (physical and mental) that I cannot provide the basic care of my children what is the point of breast milk even with all the benefits it just make me feel worst. Hence for now, I shall just continue and slowly wean off. :)

The arrival of my prince - Jaymond

My prince - Jaymond arrived on 4-Dec with a weight of 3.66 kg and a height of 51cm. It is a natural delivery with the help of epidural. However, this time round epi is totally useless to me. I feel the pain throught the delivery. The experience is definitely tramuatising as compared to the previous one or I had forgotten the previous experience. But well I decide to start blogging again to note down the bits and pieces of my free time.

Btw I had picked up my knitting needles from the spider cob. But my yarns are being kept in the luggage bag by hb.

Even since my gal started on solids, I need to crack my brain to design or decide on what to cook for her on weekends so that she would enjoy them. She is definitely a fussy eater now. Haiz.

So I am putting in more efforts to cook to prepare as well as to decorate. Ta ta here is my first attempt with my new toys.

We are back from the cruise

We are back from the cruise trip. It is a more relaxing n more ideal trip than what I expected and we have time to rest to eat to visit penang n phuket and to sleep. So i find it is a well-balanced trip.

Photos would be posted soon after sorting them out. But again today is the last day of my block leave. Hope I got time to sort them out. :)

One More Week

Yeah 1 more week to go before we head off for our cruise. Besides cruise, it also means one week of a FT SAHM.

Yes my parents are going holiday for a week and my gal main caregiver is going on one week leave. So I had to take my block leave and spend time with my gal which i dun mind a break frm work. Hopefully it dun pile up when I return.

Though this is not the first time my mum going holiday for a week (the last time she went was when my gal was abt 3 months old, it was definitely an easier time for me), i am pretty excited as I need to prepare food and plan activities for my gal so that I can keep her occupy and spend quality time with her. Really hope she would enjoy.

Looking forward to it. For now, I need to do my planning and of coz start my packing for the trip. Yippee!!!

Counting down

Yes, I am counting down to my first overseas trip with my gal n hubby. we are going to cruise to penang n phuket. 11 more days to go. so excited. so long nvr go holiday le (almost 2 yrs).

Finally collected my gal's passport last sat. It was so tough to take a decent passport photo for a kid.

Here is the photo that we provide. It's time for me to start packing our luggage this weekend.

It's time

It's time, it's time to start posting on my blog after a good 7mths break from the last post I had. I decided I shall be more hardworking to update my blog as well as spending time with my family.

My gal is 11 months plus now, getting more playful n determining (another positive word for stubborn). There are times that I feel so frustrated over her and myself but there are times whereby I really enjoy my moments with her. Seeing her growing up happily n healthy would give me a sense of happiness n satisfaction. That's what I think all parents wanted for their kids Happy n healthy.

I had been thinking of knitting something for my gal beside booties after some brainstorming and courage. I decided to embark on knitting a teddy bear blanket. Luckily I manage to finish it before my delivery. Hope my gal would like it :)

A New Chapter of my life

I am moving into a new chapter of my life, a totally new experience, eager and looking forward to it. Finally DS is cleared now I have to start my shopping list.

Y I love December?
- Clear leave period (Although I dun have much to clear this year, my turn will come next yr that what my colleagues say)
- It is holiday season and a season for gathering (Christmas and New Year)
- The weather is slightly colder ( I wish for snow but if this happen here, something is going very wrong)
- My Bd falls in Dec :)

This Dec is as lovely as the others. I had a short weekend trip, had christmas gatherings that come with gifts.

*sighz* These UFOs are going to be frrrrrrrrrrogged..... i think... or maybe I should think of ways to rescue them...

(1) Purple Bolero
I had completed knitting with this sometimes back. However, when I wanted to start hiding the seams i realised that it is too big for me. The measurement across is 46". Sighz... really beyond hope...

(2) Bumble Bee
This UFO had been around at least for the past 2 years. It is one of the projects that I co during my knitting lessons. OMG!!! So long. One "hardworking" day, I decided to clear my ufo but I realised a problem -- all the seams are not aligned no matter how i arranged them :( No choice. Well I had found a replacement pattern for these yarns ;)

It's a colorful world :)

My second pair of sock. It is one of the KAL with Regg & Yun.

I had a hard time with this one. Frogged for more than 4 times for this pair of socks. Luckily I manage to complete it. *grin*

Generally this is an easy pattern except for the heel turn portion. I uses the wendy knit's instruction instead of following the one on the pattern. Beside that, I makes mistakes with the first few rows I miss out the increase. Hence my socks look squarish for the initial portion. But I decide to ignore those since it is not very obvious when i wear them.

Looking at the entrelac projects on the ravelry, I feel tempted to co an entrelac project. I shortlisted the Danica scarf. I use some variegated wool yarns from china for this project and the color run is amazing. I love it. This is one of those projects that I love. :)

Here are my lacey project after blocking.

This is my second stole after clapotis. I am looking forward to this stole when i first started to CO even when I finish kniting it. I am happy that I had a new stole to use. B........U...........T..........., after blocking the length of the stole stretches to 92". OMG!!!! The stole is even taller den me. Seems like I had to use it as a scarf instead of stole as it is really way too long.

Phew... Finally I am back to blogging. Had been real busy with work recently. 15 days of continuous working and training... At least things start to get back to its normal pace now.

I had been in a lacey mood or rather even since i started knitting. If you had noticed, most of my FOs are non-cable except one bag for my bag. It is not that I dislike cable but I just know like the way of knitting cable. :) Maybe someday I would work on cable. Hmmm maybe a bag or scarf. Just see how it goes. Being in lacey mood, I CO another shawl again. Together with my buddy regg. :) This time round it is Kiri. It had been in my to knit list until one or two week back. We decided to CO.

Beside Kiri, Hanami is still in progress. Soon it would be done before this weekend I hope.

Boring me

I finally managed to complete my clapotis just in time for my mum to bring it to my distant relative. I took me a long 9 months to complete it. It is a simple knit would definitely proceed to do another one. The only thing that can be improved on is the length of this stole/scarf. It is a super long one (84 Inches) after I steam iron it. steam iron is really an easy way of blocking. lol

Opps, my last post was more than a month ago. Time really flies. Since I started my new job, Life is hectic and it is going to be more hectic soon. More tasks and more responsibilities but that doesn't really equate to my salary :(. I still had alot of back dated post to update especially on my Japan Part 4 and 5. I had selected the pixs but not yet uploaded them. I would do it soon *kicking my own a** to update...

I had been knitting hard to complete my WIPs from last year. Here is another one that I completed. It was completed knitting quite a while ago but lazy me did not sew the rubber band for it. Hence recently, I decided to crochet the trim instead of sewing the rubber band.

Yeah! Here's my first Finished Object (FO) for the year of 2008 - Redgina (an orangina in red color).

It took me quite a while to complete this lace top due to the size needle size I am using (2.5mm). The yarns used is Jaeger Siena. I got this yarns from my buddy during a craftster swap. :)

Japan 2008 Part 1

Hb & I decided to head for a Japan trip this year Jan for about 10 days - 7 days in Hokkaido, 3 days in tokyo. Not really a planned trip nor scheduled trip. So I now need to save money to recover the hole created. However, this trip is definitely one of the trips that hb n I enjoy a lot especially the snowy weather @ hokkaido. :) Would go back one of these days again.

A total of 738 pictures were taken. After looking at the pictures repeatedly, I decided to break them in some little parts and post them here. :) Don't really think I would resize them all and upload all - it would be a bit too much. :p

First Crochet FO

Crochet was never my cup of tea. Maybe because I am a left handed and had to read the instructions in a reversed direction.

But being a knitter, I thought i should try out crochet. I started this FO 2 years ago. I think in Year 2006. OMG! So long ago. But luckily I still manage to finish it. The yarns I used is olympus silk bijou cost me a bomb approximately $20+. Overall it is quite a nice experience. Would attempt to crochet a few more items in future.

I make my decision.

I decided to submit my resignation today. It is a tough decision. Mainly because of the nice colleagues I had. They are friendly. As for boss, I found him still alright just quite lack of direction. *sigh*

I still remember the first day I joined my company. I had to work till 9pm. I feel so upset and days went by. Stay in my first project for 1 and half years. Make a lot of friends and went through alot. A lot of my project mates left leaving only 3 of us now. Missing those days now.

I think I shall not waste time anymore. I need to learn more stuff and gain more exposure.

Pray and hope that I had a better future. I must work hard.

*Think I would had slow down my progress in knitting after I join my new company. I need to get my confirmation first. But meanwhile I should knit more during my notice period. Heheehe..... Jia You!!!!!!!*

Winter Knits no. 2

I initially want to blog about my bd and Christmas pressies first. But I had no time to upload the pictures yet. Hence I shall blog about my winter knits no. 2 first. Luckily it turns up to be fine for me although it is a bit big. But still can wear it. I actually prefer my left socks the one ending with brown. Well lazy me what to say. Sighz!!

Knitting resolutions!!

Before the year 2008, I guess I should make knitting resolutions for year 2008.

Most importantly, clear as much WIPS as possible.

WIPs

1) Bumble bee – It is a stripped cardi, almost completed it but I lack on one ball of yarns so now I thinking what to do with it. Should I frog?

2) Clapotis

3) Scarf

4) Pink tube – it is 95% completed but I need to either add in rubber band at the top or crochet trimming for ribbon to go through

5) Crochet bag

6) Redgina – plan to completed before CNY

7) Bolero

8) Hb’s sweater – running out of yarns soon. Argh!!

9) Wicked

The list just doesn’t seem to reduce at all. Think I need to knit hard. Not forget my To-do list is growing at amazing speed too.

For 1^st quarter of 2008, I shall target to complete Hb’s sweater, pink tube, redgina and bolero. Still tune and hope I can achieve my target.

Winter knits 1

This is my winter knits 1 -- Midwest Moonlight scarf from scarfstyle.

I had been eyeing to do this scarf since I first saw this pattern. But no really valid or rather good reason for me to knit a scarf for myself. Haha but this time round there is a very valid reason. *grin* The pattern is a simple pattern easy to memorize.

Many things happen over this period of time.

Happy things: I attend many weddings. I learnt to appreciate wedding dinner despite that I need to pack red packet. Happiness and joy fill the air. Congratulations to all the newly wedded couples!

Bad experiences: I encountered a bus accident on my way back from Malaysia. It is a terrible experience. But luckily hb n I only had minor injuries. We have in the process of recovery now. This experience make me treasure what I have now even more.

Oh I lost my cameras and my slippers too. :( I going to claim from insurance. Hopefully I can get the claims.

So I lost a lot of my pictures. sighz..

No card reader

So sad my few month old card reader gave way. No matter how hard I tried to insert my memory card it just cannot detect my memory card. :( I had alot of backlog to update. But without a card reader, I could not load any of the pictures. So have to wait for a few more days before I can start to post those back logs.

Virus attack

I don't know what really happen to me. After recovering from my blocked ears, I was being attacked by virus again. I had been coughing for the past one week. Sighz and have fever over the Deevapali Holiday.

Now I am in the process of recovering. :)

This week is a busy week for me. Despite the hectic schedule at work, my free time for this week are all packed. Busy busy. :)

Goong S - Prince Hours

I am having korean drama craze recently. Have been buying korean drama and start to watch them recently. I just finished watching Goong S - Prince Hours which is something similar to the Princess hours. The bears bears in the drama are so cute. The bears are actually display in teddy bear museum in Jeju island. I want to go I want to go. But it would take some time.

Synopsis

The Queen (played by Myung Se Bin) is in her early 30s but still unmarried. Because of this, in a condition where there cannot be a reduction in the number of successors to the throne, the present prince (the 1st successor) suddenly leaves the world and leaves a vacancy in the line of successors.

So they go out to find the secret prince and finally find Lee hoo (played by Se7en), who has been living outside the palace.

Lee hoo is the son of a prince and his mother who died early, had departed with his father and left the palace, hiding the fact that she was already pregnant. He does not know that he possesses royal blood and has lived, working as a delivery boy at a chinese restaurant.

Although usually, he has wang ja byung (?) (prince disease), he had never dream of entering the palace and receiving royal lessons.

Lee hoo, the unbelievable no 1 successor to the throne and the perfect Lee Joon (played by Kang Doo) will bring tension to the drama as they fight over the position.

After Lee Hoo enters the palace, an important place will be the royal academy. It is a place for members of the royal family as well as descendants of wealthy families.

The drama will also be about the romance between the characters.

Meanwhile knitting is still undergoing while watching the drama serials. :p Moving on to watch fantasy couples now. Would update more on knitting soon.

A delay post on Cup cakes KAL

This is really long overdue post on cupcakes. I had been busy and lazy to update this post. Sorry gals. Here are the cupcakes that I had received from Yun. Aren't they (yam cupcakes) lovely and looks yummy? *blink blink*Besides that I also received cupcake from regg. Cupcake with chocolate icing my favorite.

Recovering

Yes I am still in the process of recovery NOT yet recovered. My ears are still a bit blocked but better that last two weeks especially after those giddiness that I experienced. It was the most terrible ones. The world just seems to spin and I dared not that escalator on my way back.

Luckily I feel better now. But ears still a bit blocked. Hence I try to restrain myself from taking any spicy food and deep fried food. Hope I would recovered soon.

Sighz don't know what really happen to my ears. It just got blocked when I woke up yesterday morning.*Maybe my ears are having monday blues*

Had visited the doctor.

Conversation between me and doctor.

Me: My ears are blocked since this morning when i woke up.
Doc: Are they painful?
Me: Sometimes
Doc: Did you had any incident with your ears?
Me: No
Doc: Did you recover from flu?
Me: No
Doc: Did you recover from cough?
Me: No
Doc: Did you recover have fever or feeling giddy?
Me: No
**Perform some check with my ears**
Doc: one of the tubes got blocked. similar to taking planes. As to why it happens, i'm not sure. But you should recover within 2-3 days after taking the medicine.

No conclusion from the doctor. But it still seems to be the same after one day. Understand from Yun that it might happen for quite sometimes. OMG!

*Pray Pray* hopefully my ears would be unblocked soon.

Donuts Craze is over

Yes no more donuts for this post. It is all about Cupcakes now. After browsing thru the internet for cupcakes we (Regg, Yun and windloop) had decided to start at KAL and we are going to exchange our cupcakes end of the month.

Here are my initial attempts. Unsuccessful batches of cupcakes, don't even get to see the base completed. *sigh*

Finally I got it right at least it looks like some out of shape cake now.

Of coz I would improvise my cup cakes before the deadline comes. :)

In the previous post, I mentioned that I am working on my hb sweater. I am still working hard on it. Here is the back piece measurement by 26 by 21 inches. It just seems endless to knit men sweaters (this is the second sweater after my bro's one). Now I am working on the left front side. Going to complete the left front soon.

Doesn't it looks BIG.

It has been more than half a month since I last blogged. I had been busy with my work extremely busy for the past week. Hopefully things would get better this week.

On the knitting end, I had started to work hard on my hb sweater again. My target to complete it would be end of November. *Die die must complete on time* meanwhile I have to work on some surprise projects and this includes Christmas knitting or rather handicrafts as well. *Busy busy*

Yes I am crazy about donuts. I love donuts even before the craze is happening in singapore. Especially donuts. I miss out KrispyKreme donuts when I was in HK. But guess what, R bought some back for me. Thank you gal thank you thank you. *Very happy and touched when eating the donut*

After 1 year plus , I finally decide to go ahead to purchase my little toy - Nintendo DS lite. It is a gift from my hb. Thanks you dear.

Have been pondering over whether to get DS lite or PSP (When we reached the store, it was fully packed the counter was full with people asking for prices or viewing the game console). I decide on DS lite as I like the outlook of it and the games that it had. Love the interaction using the stylus.
Thus I had less time for knitting now. ;)

For once, I felt that my WIPs and stash are in a big mess. Feel so messy. There are too many WIPs. I wish to have ten pairs of hands that can work on all the projects at the same time. I think I had to work out a plan or two to sort them and finish them asap coz my to-cast-on list keeps on growing. I also need to sort out a to-cast-on list which are those that I want or need to do fast.

Beside that my stash (both books and yarns) seems to be messy too. I lost track of the yarns count (think should be ard 350). I need to conduct a stock take soon. Hehe.

I would also have to do some christmas knitting and some christmas handicrafts soon. :)

Craze

Donuts - This is what a lot of singaporeans are crazy about now. It seems that there is a craze on donuts especially those from Donut Factory. The queue is always super long. People are queueing at the store before it actually opens for business *faint*. Finally I got a chance to try the donuts. All thanks to my diligent and hardworking bro...Thanks you.

The donuts taste quite nice. But a bit too sweet. I had this one white chocolate one that has a layer of milk chocolate inside the donut. Nice but a bit too sweet for me. :D

Recently I participate in one of the craftster swap and I receive these from my swap partner. I love them a lot. Thanks gal. Really appreciate the effort that you put in the package. I love them.

The package includes a woolly sheep, a knit notebook, one ball of sock yarns (for my climate here), a skein of yarn that she personally spin it, 2 pouches, 1 ready made magazine and some post cards.

Remember some posts back, my mum requested me to do a scarf or shawl for my relatives. But end up there is really a short of time. Hence the request is not fulfilled. However this time round, my mum assigned me another task. The task is to knit/crochet FOUR shawls/scarves for my relatives so that she can give it to them the next time she visit them which is going to be next year around march or april.

So I have a longer more time to knit this time round but more items this time round. So what am I going to knit for them. Hmmm, I had decided on two patterns. One is the black clapotis (yes, I am going to do another one for myself next time), another one is Montego Bay Scarf from IK summer 2007 (I had started a shawl version for myself). For the other 2, do anyone have any suggestions? I wanted something simple and nice.Of coz something that I can do it first. :)

Here are the projects for PS for the month of June / July.

Redgina - an orangina in red
Finally I had completed one side of my redgina. It seems to take so long as I am using 2.5mm needles. I really start to wonder is my knitting really that loose. Well I had also cast on the other piece. Hopefully I can completed it before the next quarter.
Clapotis
I casted on this with an intention to have a shawl for evening purpose. However, it turns out to be a bit too small. Maybe because I used 3.25mm needles. So I thinking to complete this and give it out as a gift. It looks more like a scarf now.Coincidentally, the color of this shawl fall into the color theme for project spectrum for June/July.

Cookies

It had been a long time since I last make pastry like cookies, cakes etc. It so happened that I came across a chocolate cookies recipe from wokkingmum blog and its clear and short instructions. Hence i decided to buy the ingredients to try it out. Oh ya and I finally bought a weighing machine to make the cookies. Most importantly, the weighing machine shows ounces too. *blink blink*
The cookies taste nice. I love them despite that they were a little black. But I think I left it out to cool down too long. I should keep them in the container earlier.

Robots

I had been a movie craze recently watching movie almost every weekend. Now I am waiting for Harry Potter- one of my favorite movie.

I went to watch the hottest movie in town - Transformers with hb and r&r last week. Before watching the movie, what was in my mind was that this is going to be any childhood cartoons that movie makers can changing it into a movie. All about robots that all.

However after 2hours +, I totally changed the way i think. The movie is a must watch. The animations is awesome. I am totally amused by how the movie is made. The movie is so fast that at moment I missed some of the scene as a lot of things can be happening at one. At the end of the movie, I was still asking around with the others. Hehehe but I guess I would be watching another time. Maybe would just rent the DVD when the DVD is out. ;)

Review of summer knitting goals

Below is the list of summer knitting goals that I came out with several posts back. It is time to look at them now. Hopefully I can achieve my goals.

(1) To complete my Diamond Fantasy Shawl - Done. Yeah!!!!

(2) To complete my Bolero - So sad my left front and my right front pieces are of different length. I would need to redo my right front piece.

(3) To finish at least one side of my redgina - Moving toward my goal now. 15" as of yesterday.

(4) To start my clapotis - Yes I started doing clapotis using a black acrylic yarn. I would try to post up some pixs soon.

(5) To complete my socks - Still in freezer.

Seems like my goal I still need to put in some more effort for my goals.

Just in time

I just manage to finish my Diamond Fantasy shawl for my friend's birthday. Before blocking, it looks super small to me despite that I had done 7-8 repeats. It looks bigger after blocking. Hope it fits my friend.

This FO isn't mistake free. It is fill with mistakes. I had tried to rescue them in order to make it better looking.

Day 5 : Home Sweet home

For Day 5, there isn't much activities except for my last min shopping and food as well.

This is my fave food that I ate in HongKong. Yes it is japanese sashimi. Given the price the service and the quantity it is definitely worth it. No wonder there was long queue at the shop everyday.

Day 4 : A super packed day

Our day 4 in Hong Kong was a very packed day. It differed from my planned itinerary quite a lot as for the past few days we had been spending more than time then we expected.

Itinerary for the day : Ocean park, The Peak and Symphony of Lights

We had our breakfast at KFC before we headed off for Ocean Park. The breakfast menu at KFC is super longed. It included porridge, macaroni, bread etc. We had chosen a set that comprises a bit of everything.

We took Citybus No. 629 Terminal near Admiralty MTR station. It is a park with rides, games, aquarium exhibits and performance. The park is divided into two portions low-level and high-level. They are linked by cable car (a bit scary).
We did not manage to watch the performance as it was very packed and people were pushing around.The scenario is nice but *sighz* Most of the time people were just snatching for places even the food sold there were sold out at 3pm.

The Peak
We took the peak tram up. The slope up is pretty steep. There was a portion that is like 45 degree. It was really a good and interesting experience. The view at the peak is magnificent. The air is fresher up there too. How I wish to have a house there!

Day 3 of Hong Kong trip - A day to the Magical land

Yes it was the day that we went to Disneyland HongKong. Despite all the rants that I heard about it, I still insisted that we should go to it to take a look and to satisfy my dreams of visiting Disneyland since young.

To beat the weekend crowds, we visited it on a Monday thinking that they would be lesser people. But we are wrong. There are still tonnes of people there.

We took MTR from TST to Sunny Bay and took the disney train to disneyland. Almost everything in the train had a mickey mouse shape. The handle, the window etc. But the seat did not had any mickey mouse.

There wasn't a lot of adventurous rides at this disneyland. A lot of shops and photo taking with disney characters. There are a no. of shows too. The MUST see in disneyland is definitely the fireworks at the end of the day. It is so nice and romantic. I want to see again.

Yes that is the duration that I am given to knit a shawl or scarf for my relative (tasked by my mum).

I am still thinking whether i should start knitting on or rather tell my mum that I cannot finish on time. How how!!!

what color? what yarn? I think wool should be ok. But should i ahead to CO? What if i cannot finish on time? *pass to them next year* *grin*

Think i need to think through first but time is really ticking. I already had 10 WIPs..... *faint*

Bed Shrug

I guess it is really time for some updates. Yes I am still rushing with my work. Deadline is very tight with more changes and defects coming in *crossing my fingers that everything will go fine* I really had no time to update my HK trip day 3. I took too many pixs in the disneyland. Hopefully after this week I would have more time to do so.

While I am working today(yes it is 1st May but I got a deadline tml), I suddenly think of my SP9, I guess the last parcel really got lost :(. But I am still hoping or rather holding on to the slim chance that somehow it would arrive.

Presenting another FOs, it is bed shrug fromInterweave knits website. This is the second KAL that I done with my knitting pals. It is a simple and pleasant knit. I don't need to worry about the shaping etc. All i need to do is just knit to the length i desired. I had also crochet the edges to prevent them from curling up.

Day 2 of Hong Kong Trip

We had our breakfast at the famous Serenade restaurant- one of the restaurant in Maxim's group.

Our main iternary of the day was to visit the Big Buddha at Lantau Island.
Instead of taking MTR (their MRT system) directly, we decided to take Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island first then transfer to MTR to Tung Chung station (it is one of the last MTR - super far).

After 1 hour plus of traveling, we finally reach Tung Chung skyrail terminal. We were going to take the 30mins cable car ride. Yeah!

The different kind of packages they offer. We just get the most basic one which is the return tickets for the cable car.

Look at the queue. It took us 45mins to an hour before we can board the cable car.

The cable car can hold up to 15 or 17 people.

Yes we took the electric tram without knowing where it is heading to. We just board it. It is cheap too less than a dollar SGD irregardless of how many long is the journey.

It was a day full of new experiences with different kind of transportation, land, sea and air. :)

Shopping Day

Day 1 of Hong Kong Trip

Our flight was 6.40am. This time round we decided to try out JetStar. By the time we reached Changi airport was already 5+am and yes we overslept abit as my planned time was to reach airport 4.45am earliest to get good seats. Too bad there wasn't anymore door seats for us. We had to squeeze into a very small allocated space for 3hours plus. Luckily the seat were leather seat so not that bad after all. No food and drink allowed in the plane as it is a budget airline they expected you to buy from them. Well, we had our burger king breakfast before we board the plane and for drink, i did brought along with me a bottle of mineral water. *grin*

After 3 hours, finally we reached Hong Kong.

Besides the transfer bus send us to our hotel. It went to Hollywood hotel to pick up some passengers.

The hotel that we stayed throughout the journey was Kimberly Hotel. Erm I forget to take pixs of the hotel.

Our first stop of the whole trip : Wong Tai Sin Temple. It is a famous temple in Hong Kong and there is a lot of people praying. We decided to go there to take a look and pray pray.

Second stop is to Fa Yuen street to look for my yarn shop. I even printed out the map. Hb was shocked when he saw it. Before we managed to find the yarn shop, we found something tempted.

Yes, steamed milk. One of the must eat item in our list. It is delicious. *dripping saliva now*

Frankly speaking I don't really feel hungry at all. It was hb that kept on asking me to eat. My friend advise me only go into the restaurant when you see people eating. Hence we found this decent looking shop and had porridge for dinner.

Supper - Smelly bean curd.Hb decided to buy and try despite that it was smelly and it cost SGD$1+ not cheap at all. I try a small bite. Really smelly but once it is in your mouth it taste nice. Verdict: Worth trying!

Like a Bee

I back from my hk holiday trip last wed. I really had a great time. Shopping and eating and eating and shopping. No defects fixing and no user manual. I bought quite a no. of stuff and that includes yarns, needles and a jaeger pattern book. This trip is definitely expensive but I hope to go back next year for the shopping and food. Think my yarns count definitely exceed the 200 line now. Opps.. I would post up my trip hopefully by this week as I had 600 over pictures to sort.

Once i started work on friday, I became a bee. so busy. I had to rush out 4 user manuals and resolved my critical and high defects all the today. Besides work, I meet up with my knitting buddies on sat. we had a great time, knitting and chatting. I received lovely pink roses from r. Thanks gal. The roses are now sitting in my lovely pooh vase.

By now, I had completed 1 major user manuals and resolved my critical and high defects. 3 more user manuals to go. Hope I can finish today. I don't want to sleep late again. *I sleep at 2+am yesterday. Now my eyes are half close.*

I attended a ROM today. It is not the first time i attended a ROM but it is definitely the first time i attended an outdoor ROM ceremony. The place is nice and well-decorated with a lot of effort I would say. Balloons, ribbons, flowers.... It adds to the ambiance.

The ceremony really remind me of the vow that I made 3+ years ago. The few simple yet meaningful sentences that we need to fulfill till the end of life. I would say not easy. But the effort made is definitely worthwhile. The process is memorable too.

Last but not least I sincerely wish Mr & Mrs H a happy everlasting blissful marriage.

Handmade

Being someone whom like to hand made stuff, I appreciate and do love to receive handmade gifts. Here are a few of the handmade gifts I had received.

Presenting Ms Piggy and Ms fishy - these are the gifts that I receive from my knitting pals :) Thanks pals

Purple cable bag - this is the item that my swapper made for me for the craftster swap. Most importantly it is my fave color and it definitely goes well with my jeans

Along with the cable bag are 6 balls of Jaeger siena in red - a yarn color that I do not have.

Note the picture only show 5 balls of yarns that mean I had CO another new project using this yarn. Meanwhile I would not say what project is this until I work more of it. P/s I had frogged more than 5 times doing this project over the weekend. Argh!! Hope it is going on fine now.

Spring Cleaning

I had been very busy for the past one week at least. I had not been knitting much. I had been busy doing spring cleaning for the WHOLE house. Yes the whole 110 square metres altougth it isn't really that big but it is really enough to tire both me and hb. Luckily hb is a good cleaner and I am of course the lazy one. Hahaha. You would know how little I had done after looking at this list of tasks.

What hb did
- clean the windows
- wipe the door
- clean the store room except my yarns
- clean the tv console
- clean the 3rd bedroom cupboard
- clean the study room cupboard
- tidy his clothes
- clean the dressing table and side tables
- clean the two toilet
- clean and wipe the floor

What i did
- tidy up my yarns and out crafts
- going through my items in the study room
- tidy my clothes
- clean the kitchen
- clean the fridge

I had only did such little cleaning but I am dread tired. Dear dear thanks for cleaning up the house. (I know sometimes you read my blog) :P I would be more hardworking in the year of pig. :P

Before I started to clean my house, I had signed up for 2 knitting activities, a swap in craftster and Project Spectrum II.

I had started working on the swap stuff. If the pal I swap with happen to read this post. Yes I had started to work on the swap. I going to spend part of my CNY holiday to do it. 2 more weeks to completion. I hope I can meet the deadline. I should be. :D

As for project spectrum II, the color for Feb and Mar is blue, white and one more color. I can't remember. I had took out some blue yarns but I had not decide what to do with them or rather I had a brief idea but I haven started yet. :)

I finished my Icarus finally in 2006. However I just block it recently. It took me quite some time to block it because of its size.
